Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Essence Review - M Review 134
Huxley Oil Essence is the desert oasis that my parched skin needed.
Ingredient Spotlight:
Sahara prickly pear seed oil is the star of the show in this essence. It's been known to
- combat skin damage
- reduce acne
- reduce inflammation
Packaging & Branding:
First of all, lets address the elephant in the room; this gosh darn packaging. The box has a simplified desert scene created with just three shades of soft, delicate grey and browns. The essence is contained in a frosted glass dropper bottle with clean, minimalist lettering stating 'Great things never came from comfort zones', which I just find so charming.
First Impression & Two-Week Experience:
My skin drinks this right up like it’s the elixir it’s always been craving, yet didn’t know it needed. Because of its abilities to protect against environmental stressors, I primarily reach for it during my morning routine. While an ‘oil essence’ admittedly sounds like a heavy little number, this absorbs completely into my skin with no residue. Because of this, I find it so easy to incorporate into almost any routine without any worry even during warmer days where my skin can get more oily and easily congested.
This leaves an understated 'lit from within' glow. It doesn't leave your face shiny or dewy necessarily, but you just look WELL. It has you looking like you're drinking all your water and your direct deposit just went through. It has an incredibly light yet well rounded floral scent that doesn’t linger, but adds to the sensory experience.
Final Thoughts:
Overall this is one of those rare unicorn products that I’d say could work for pretty much any skin type in many different climates due to its versatility, however I feel it really shines during transitional seasons. This was my intro into Huxley products, and I’m highly anticipating exploring the brand further.
