Skinfood Black Sugar Mask Wash Offs - Review M 31
Summer's approaching us quite quickly which means that soon, it's that time of year again when many of us get more blackheads!! Ewww.... Hotter temperatures increase sebum levels making it more likely to get clogged pores as the weather's getting warmer. Inside a blackhead is the buildup of sebum, dead skin cells, bacteria, and debris. It looks like a dark spot, and they're most common on the nose although you can also see them on the cheeks, chin, and forehead.
Realistically, it's impossible to get rid of blackheads forever. Even if you remove them, usually they'll keep coming back. However, I do believe you can control blackheads although you may not be able to eliminate them forever~ Personally, I'd say the best thing to do, especially in the summer, is to cleanse your skin properly and diligently every day and exfoliate at home at least once or twice a week.
Speaking of the season of blackheads approaching, I wanted to bring the famous Skinfood Black Sugar Wash Offs to you today~
All of these Facial Wash Off Masks contain the mineral-rich Brazilian black sugar, so then I can't not mention the main benefits of black sugars for your skin. Black sugar itself helps with exfoliating, thus helping with getting rid of whiteheads and blackheads in our pores. The little particles are soft enough to be used on our skin but also strong enough to get rid of the dead skin and impurities building and clogging our pores on our face! Black sugar also helps with brightening our skin and supports our skin from aging from UV sunlights as well :)
1. Skinfood : Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off
This is Skinfood's facial wash off mask that contains mineral-rich Brazilian black sugar along with strawberry seeds and strawberry seed oil. I did not know the amazing benefits of strawberry seed oil until now. Strawberry seed oil is known to moisturize the skin and even protect the skin's outer layer as well as repairing its moisture barrier. It soothes irritated skin, delays aging and reduces wrinkles, provides antioxidants and protects skin against UV rays, and lightens uneven skin.
2. Skinfood : Black Sugar Honey Mask Wash Off
This is a moist black sugar honey mask containing Brazilian black sugar and sweet honey. Honey is a natural remedy for skin related problems because honey is a powerful anti-bacterial agent, and it can be used for blackhead care in the summer as well. So in this one, we have two main ingredients that help to get rid of blackheads.
3. Skinfood : Black Sugar Mask Wash Off
This facial scrub wash off would be the most effective in exfoliating and getting rid of blackheads and dead skin cells. This one is the thickest with the most particles.
I've tried all three of the Wash Off Masks, and all three do give you nice and similar results: fresh, clean, moisturized skin with a nice glow and a fragrant scent. All three of the Wash Off Masks do each have a different scent. The Black Sugar Strawberry has a sweet Strawberry scent which might be obvious, the Black Sugar Honey smells like honey, and the Black Sugar Mask has a rather refreshing lemon scent. This might help you pick which one you'd like to try if you have a preference with the different fragrances. Also, the Black Sugar Strawberry and the Black Sugar Honey are both on the more soft exfoliating and irritation-free side. The Black Sugar Mask might be more effective but it is slightly more abrasive on the skin because the texture is thicker and scrubbier if you know what I mean.
I would recommend the Black Sugar Mask to people who like to get that good hard scrub opposed to the softer scrubs. I like these Wash Off Masks because I instantly have that brighter, glowy skin after use. My skin definitely feels clean (it probably felt cleaner cause I felt and saw some of my dead skin cells shedding away as I gently rubbed my face in circles with these Wash Off Masks). I didn't feel any tightness on my skin after using these as well. I'm more of a wash-off mask person than a peel-off mask person so if you're like me, I'd say give at least one of these a try! <3
