Hello Spring! K-Beauty Spring Skincare Guide - M Review 77
We’re reaching that time of the year when we can slowly start to say goodbye to the cold winter. Finally! As we come out of hibernation, our skin appears to be dull and lifeless with the lack of sun we have been getting. During the spring, I like brightening up my complexion for a vibrant and lively appearance. Personally, I like transitioning from heavy creams and intensive hydration to products that are light enough to layer. I’ll be going over some key ingredients and products that I have been using to bring back that spring-time glow!
[Neogen] Dermalogy Bio-Peel Gauze Peeling Lemon
Another favorite in the K-Beauty community. This innovative pad by Neogen is one of my favorites in terms of exfoliating and toning my skin. There are two other version which are awesome as well. The dual-sided pads are great for exfoliating dead skin cells that build up as texture on your face - not cute. I only use this 1-2 times a week since I want to avoid over-exfoliating my skin. If you want smoother, brighter skin I highly recommend trying these pads!
The Lemon Bio-Peel Gauze is infused with a high concentration of lemon fruit, orange, and grapefruit extract - a powerhouse of Vitamin C - to make your skin complexion radiant and bright. These exfoliating pads are the solution to transition from your rough, dull winter skin to smooth, glowing spring skin.
[COSRX] Galactomyces 95 Tone Balancing Essence
COSRX has a loyal cult following and for good reason. The products they offer are simple yet effective, with a focus on key ingredients. I’ve loved all of their essences, but for the spring, I’ve been loving this Galactomyes Essence to help brighten up my skin as well as add a boost of hydration to my regimen. I’ve noticed over time that my skin looks more radiant and almost transparent after using this.
The galactomyces in this essence a fermented ingredient that has antioxidants and is effective in moisturizing, brightening, reducing acne and oil production, and increasing elasticity. There is also niacinamide and allantoin that both boost the toning effects from this essence.
[Klairs] Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop
If you haven’t tried a Vitamin C serum, go out and get yourself one now! This one from Klairs has been raved about and for good reason. If you haven’t already figured out what Vitamin C is good for, this serum works to relieve hyperpigmentation and dark spots that may be caused by the sun. I apply this right before my moisturizer, or sometimes I even mix it in with my foundation for a glowy finish. This serum feels more like a dry-oil, so it soaks into the after a couple of pats. This guy has literally transformed my skin tone and complexion. I look more alive and energized.
This product contains 5% ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) which is a perfect amount for those with sensitive skin. Higher concentrations of vitamin C may irritate the skin. It also contains other vitamin C-enriched ingredients as well as my favorite anti-inflammatory/redness-relieving ingredient, centella asiatica.
[Skin&Lab] Red Cream
I remember reviewing this cream not too long ago, and now it’s back in this blog. It is fitting of the season with its rose and floral extracts that work to brighten and plump the skin. This is literally the perfect moisturizer for Spring-ready skin. I love that the cream isn’t too heavy with its gel-cream formulation, suitable for almost every skin type. The scent is not overbearingly fake as well - very fresh and floral.
On top of the rose and floral extracts, this cream also contains pomegranate and various berry extracts to provide an antioxidant rich effect. These extracts provide deep hydration and anti-aging benefits as well. With the cream almost empty now, I can say that this cream has revitalized my skin with a beautiful glow and youthful plump.
[Suntique] I’m Pure Cica Suncream
Transitioning from winter, we are now getting more sun than before. Yay! But that means more harmful UV exposure that can cause skin damage. So, it’s even more important to layer on sunscreen before heading out the house.
I’ve been trying this new one out from Suntique, and this one contains centella asiatica and madecassoside (my fav ingredients) to help soothe and calm the skin. Sensitive skin types, like myself, would love this sunscreen as it doesn’t clog pores or feel overbearing on the skin.
