The Perfect Scrub for Softer Skin: I’m From Fig Scrub Mask Review
I’m From is a Korean brand that took the entire skincare industry by surprise. They believe in the philosophy of transparency and design and manufacture all of their products with the best and most natural ingredients sourced in Korea. They’re known for their simple product lines such as their rice line, mugwort line, honey line, fig line, and ginseng line. Each product line contains different key ingredients to target different skin concerns and skin types. Some of my personal favorites include their super popular and well-loved Mugwort Essence, Rice Serum, and of course, the star of today’s review, their Fig Scrub Mask!
Best Suited For: Oily, dry, and combination skin types
Key Ingredients: Like the name implies, the main ingredient in this mask is fig fruit powder. Figs have amazing antioxidant properties and are rich in nutrients and vitamins that enhance the skin’s hydration levels, improve skin tone and texture, and calm down redness. This scrub mask also contains black sugar which is a natural moisturizer that delivers deep hydration to the skin while gently exfoliating away all the remaining dead skin cells. Other notable ingredients include walnut shell powder, almond seed, and even caramel. Full ingredient list is pictured below.
Packaging: I’m From is highly regarded for their simple yet beautiful design and packaging. Each of their products actually lists every single ingredient as well as the origin and exact farm from where the main ingredient was harvested from - how unique is that!
Texture: I usually steer away from physical exfoliators because I’m always a bit scared that the rough texture would be too harsh for my sensitive skin, but the black sugar granules here didn’t irritate my skin at all! They dissolve almost effortlessly as I use my damp hands to scrub and clean my face, leaving my skin super clean and smooth and without any sticky or tacky residue.
Scent: The mask also has such a delicious smell that reminds me of caramel candy coated in brown sugar. It makes me so hungry and it’s so hard to not want to sneak a taste while masking!
How To Use:
- Apply an adequate amount of the mask evenly on the face and leave it for about 10-15 minutes.
- Wet the hands and massage the product around in a circular motion to exfoliate away all the dead skin cells.
- Rinse off the face and any remaining product with lukewarm water thoroughly.
The coolest part is that this scrub mask can actually work in conjunction with other I’m From masks too! So you have the option to mix and match any masks depending on your skin concerns.
Overall Thoughts: I’ve always been a huge fan of I’m From products and this mask was no exception. Unlike most physical exfoliants I’ve used in the past, this mask did not leave my skin feeling tight or dry at all. Instead, it left my skin feeling incredibly soft and supple. Its super fine granules do an amazing job at gently exfoliating and I’m in love with how well this mask re-texturized my skin. Although it is a bit on the pricier side, I think this mask is well worth it and would definitely consider repurchasing it again in the future!
